Lawnscaping Challenge #5

It’s time for another Lawnscaping challenge, and we’re turning 5 (weeks)! Hehe. I’m actually really excited about this challenge. That being said, it definitely is a challenge, but I think you’re going to looove what you see and what you come up with yourself! It’s time to think outside of the box on this one. :) The challenge this time is to use a {Lawn Fawn} stamp set in an unconventional way. Here’s the challenge graphic:

Here’s what I came up with. I used Critters in the Sea with Bake Me a Cake to make a cute under the sea birthday cake!

Eeek! Isn’t that just the cutest cake ever? This would be so great to give to someone who loves the ocean, who’s going on a cruise, or even to a kid who’s having a ocean-themed birthday party. To get this effect, I stamped the cake pieces with extra space around them, stamped the sea critters within the lines, and then colored them with Prismacolor pencils and cut around the lines. It was really quite easy! Here’s a close-up:

Supplies: Cardstock – Papertrey Ink (Kraft and Vintage Cream) and Stampin’ Up! (Bermuda Bay), Stamps – Lawn Fawn (Bake Me a Cake, Critters in the Sea and Sophie’s Sentiments), Ink – Tsukienko (Memento Black) and Stampin’ Up! (Bermuda Bay), Die – Sizzix (Styled Labels by Tim Holtz), Ribbon- Stampin’ Up! (Bermuda Bay Dotted Grosgrain), Colored Pencils – Prismacolor, Crystals – Queen & Co.

Make sure to check out all of the fabulous cards by the rest of the Lawnscaping Design Team:

Aren’t their projects fabulous? They’re such talented ladies! I think you’ll have a ton of fun with this challenge, and the prize is great, too: your choice of Lawn Fawn set! How cool is that? Hope to see you over at Lawnscaping!

  9. Eeeek! This is freakin’ brilliant, Brit! Oh my gosh, I am seriously in love with it! I baked my son Elliott a sea themed cake last year because he loves the ocean. It actually kinda looked like this without the extra layers. I’ll have to see if I can find a pic for you.

Anyway, I LOVE this so much. I would have never guessed you used colored pencils! It totally looks like Copics. The colors are so vibrant! You, my friend, are a genius. Utterly amazing.
