Holy Summerness!

Remember when I said the other day how much I love Minnesota because it was 70 degrees and sunny? Well spring lasted for about two days and now it’s freaking hot. We’ve all just been sitting around the house in front of fans and drinking a couple cold beers all afternoon. Oh, and we rearranged our entire livingroom (it looks so much better, but that was not a good hot weather activity). Tonight, Jake and I have decided to go to a local casino and play some late night bingo and other fun stuff. I’ve never been to a casino before, so I think it will be a cool experience. That, and it will be air conditioned. I appreciate air conditioning so much now that I don’t have it.

I wanted to stop in today and share a card that I made with the PTI anniversary set that I just got in the mail yesterday. My super sweet friend Jen Gall sent me an extra set that she had, and I couldn’t be more grateful! This set is awesome, and I’m so happy that she wanted to share with me. I sat down right away last night and made this clean and simple card.

I depended on my great loves, Jenni Bowlin Inks in Chewing Gum and Spice Tin for these great stamped images. I love how cleanly those inks stamp!

Supplies: Cardstock – Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream and Spring Moss), Ink – Ranger (Jenni Bowlin Studios in Spice Tin and Chewing Gum), Stamps – Papertrey Ink (2010 Anniversary Set).

I must go eat dinner, shower and get ready for our night out tonight. It’s going to be fun! Hopefully I’ll have some fun pictures to share from my adventure. Hope you’re having a great weekend so far and are staying cool!

Love,
Britta

  1. Well, I think you are down right crazy! I loved today’s weather! It could not have been a more perfect day! 80 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, a light breeze and oh, so beautiful! Don’t forget that we were shoveling heavy, wet snow less than 2 months ago!

Okay, now that I’ve given you a bit of a lashing, I do understand that it wouldn’t be fun to be without air conditioning, so I’ll at least give ya that.

Love this simple, pretty card, Britt! Have fun at the casino! Hugs! :)

  2. Brit this is gorgeous! I love the CAS look! Great colors too! I just got my first 2 JB inks in the stamping royalty box! One was the spice tin and the other was a red color…forgot the name! Love them so far!! What other colors do I need?

    • Um… all of them! :D

My favorites are Spice Tin, Stick Candy, Chewing Gum and Malted Milk (it’s such an awesome watermark-looking effect on white paper). I love all of the colors, though. They’re awesome! JB should pay me to endorse them. Hehe.

I think we must have traded weather. I am in Nor Cali and wearing a jacket & socks right now b/c of rain and chilly weather. We are about 20 degrees below normal for the past week. So cold beer, hot air, and fans sounds pretty good to me right now~LOL!

  4. So pretty, love the simple elegance of this! From your last post, I couldn’t resist and got some of those JB inks today, YUM!

  5. How cute I am waiting for my anniversary free set to come along with a nice order from PTI, you really have me excited now. How cute. I am going to have to try the inks you talk about a lot. I use mostly SU and some Quick Quote Chalk inks, but never tired JB ones you mention and I see you use. They look like great colors.

  6. Oh my gosh, that card is so pretty! Love the pink&green, and totally LOVE that PTI anniversary set =) Lucky you who has such generous friends =)

We’ve been having some super-hot weather here where I live too, and I’m not liking it very much. Heat really weares me out, and I don’t like the sun baking on my skin either… Not at all a summer-loving girl, if you can’t tell =) Luckily, I have my nice, chilly basement to retreat to (read: live in) during summer =)

  7. OMG, no A/C???? I’d die. My body is not made for high heat (is it humid there too, b/c kill me now if it is).

I love that card. I’m trying to make a more powerful statement w/ less stuff on my card and this design really works for me! The stamp and sentiment are big enough that it doesn’t look like it’s begging for one more perfect touch! Hope you had fun at the casino!!

  8. Love this card – so pretty and simple!
Hope you are still enjoying the good weather (or should I say, the a/c!!!) and you have fun at the casino ;)
    Hugs, Ruth S
