Hi there and thank you for stopping by today! I wanted to pop in and share my card for the new Young Crafters Unite challenge that starts today. Ready to see what the theme is for this month?
That’s right, clear cards! Really, this is open to your interpretation. My card isn’t a traditional clear card in the sense that I used patterned vellum instead of my favorite acetate cards by Hero Arts, but I think it works for the challenge!
The vellum is from the newest Dear Lizzy by American Crafts release. I actually got to see it in a store here in Barcelona called Cromatismes (a super cute store with very many current things, but boy am I missing US prices!). I’m planning on making a Simon Says Stamp order today or tomorrow and buying a whole bunch of things I’m dying to get my hands on (at prices that I’m much more comfortable with… haha). Simon Says is the sponsor for our lovely challenge this week, so make sure you check out their store!
Vellum isn’t really an optimal material to make cards out of because it’s pretty thin (in general), so I decided to add a little stability with a frame of white cardstock adhered to the inside + a place for the message (cut from the same paper but just taking off about 3/8″ with my favorite Tim Holtz ruler).
(Sorry for the poor photo – I miss my light tent! :) )
Make sure to head over to the YCU challenge blog for more inspiration from our fabulous design team as well as details on how to enter your own clear creation! Thanks to our the amazing Simon Says Stamp, our prize for this month will be:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’m enjoying another unbelieveable-freaking-gorgeous week in Barcelona and am feeling great. I’ve been creating more, and it makes me feel happy. I went through my pictures from the last three weeks today to begin the editing process and realized that I’ve seen more beauty in the last seven weeks than I have in my entire life. I can’t explain how much this whole studying abroad experience means to me. I wouldn’t change it for the world. :)
See you again soon!
