It’s been a while since I’ve done an “empty my mind” post, so I think it’s about time for one. Enjoy! <3
A New Video — Finally!
I uploaded a video the other day that’s a combination of an update about my trip to Europe (mostly with info for my deprived youtube subscribers that you, my beloved blog readers, already know) and a Simon Says Stamp haul video with some fabulous new goodies. Watch below and let me know what new thing that you’ve picked up recently that you’re excited to use in the comment section of this post!
Speaking of supply lists, I also did a little updating of my tabs on my website (^across the top of my website up there^) and added my favorite products to my favorites tab. Check it out if you’re so inclined. :)
Some More Enabling
While I’m at it, I thought I would share some more things that I’ve been loving lately. As you might know, I’ve been suffering from really bad migraines for the past month. Although those are not fun, I’ve found something fun that I can actually do when I’m resting and trying to get rid of my headaches: listen to audiobooks! I was delighted to discover that these don’t really bother my sensitivity to sound and still let me feel relaxed and somewhat productive on days where I would otherwise be incredibly bored. Also, I love listening to them while cleaning and crafting as well. It’s definitely good to have audiobooks on my computer when my internet connection stinks (so no streaming of video) and I’ve watched all of my DVDs a thousand times. Have I mentioned how much I’m looking forward to having my fast internet back yet?
Anyways, Audible.com is an AWESOME resource for anyone who likes books but has troubles finding time to read or feels the need to always be doing two things at once. I’ve read for pleasure more in the last month since discovering audible than I have in the last year. I love them so much (and I’ve come across many who feel the same) that I signed up to be an affiliate with them. So, if you click one of the links on my blog sidebar or in this post, you can go directly to audible and get all the great deals that you normally would but also support my website. At the very least, check it out and let me know what books you recommend. I would be happy to add some more to my wishlist!
Here are the three books I’ve read this month so far. I read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer first (definitely really good – I loooove historical fiction), Water for Elephants second (also very good – the story was captivating) and I’m currently listening to Life of Pi (I’ll let you know what I think about that one when I finish it, but so far it’s good). Click on the pictures below to go to the book pages.
If you’re not a technology feind like I am, no worries. The whole system is really, really easy to use. You just make an account (using your amazon account, if you wish!), purchase the book with a credit or with your member discount and then it automatically starts downloading. Click on the file when it downloads and then it opens in itunes. Itunes remembers where you are in the file and everything, so there’s no need to worry about losing your place.
Am I gushing too much? Because I’m serious when I say that I LOVE THIS SITE. I’ve always loved reading and am more than thrilled that I can find a way to read the books that my friends are always talking about in a way that works for me. They offer two deals for people who want to try out audible: 3 months for $7.49 each month (three books, one per month in the form of a credit) or one free month (one credit or one book). Here’s a page that explains more about how it works.
***Just to remind you, I would never recommend something to you if I didn’t use it, believe in it and love it myself. I’ve been using audible for a month just to make sure it lived up to everything I thought it would be. It does. I’m sharing this because I think you might love it, too. :)
Some of My Favorite Pictures
I’ve uploaded the pictures from the video HERE on flickr so you can see them more up close. Each one also has a short caption explaining what it is!
I also wanted to share my favorite 30 pictures from the weekend Jake and I went to Paris. You can view the flickr album here or just watch the slide show below. Each picture has a caption if you would like more information!
Just for Fun
I thought I would also share a video that me and some classmates (and friends) made for Spanish class last week. It probably won’t be that amusing to you if you don’t understand Spanish, but let me assure you that it’s a cinema-quality video. *Eye roll.* I bet you can tell who edited it, though! Haha.
Oh, and the story is about a guy who doesn’t understand why girls don’t like him. It turns out he has a little *stylistic* problem. You’ll see in the video. I now present to you, Els Quatre Gats Y Una Rata:
This video was posted on my second channel that I’ll use for things that aren’t related to my website or crafting. You can subscribe to it if you wish, but nothing over there will have anything to do with crafting. :)
Thanks for stopping by today! Tonight, I’m going to do a little crafting (there’s a new Lawnscaping challenge going up on Monday!) and then plan what I’m going to do on my Semana Santa trip to London and Amsterdam. I leave tomorrow afternoon right after class for the airport, and I can’t wait. If you’ve been to either one of these places, what are some places you recommend? I would especially love restaurant recommendations. Your reviews mean a lot more to me than nameless people on restaurant and travel sites. :) I can’t wait to share my trip with you when I get back!
I’ll be in London from Friday the 30th to Monday the 2nd and then will be in Amsterdam from Monday the 2nd until Friday the 6th. I’ve promised my mom to post twitter updates every morning and night so that she knows I’m alive (haha – it’s hilarious to me that I actually had to promis this, but this is what mothers do), so you can follow me over there (or just watch in the right sidebar on my website) for more updates about my adventures!
