Getting Started with Lawn Fawn + Giveaway Day 5!

Happy Friday! I saw a glimpse of the sun this morning, and it was glorious. Then it was swallowed up by the clouds. Boo! Let’s hope the sky will clear up for good one of these days. I want to go outside and enjoy this temperate weather while I still can!

Today’s post is another part of my Tips and Trick series. This one is about getting started with Lawn Fawn. The other day when I asked what your favorite stamp set was at the moment, I noticed a lot of people saying that they want to try Lawn Fawn but didn’t know where to start. Here’s my answer to hopefully help you out! After you watch the video, I have links to all of the stamps listed as well as a handy little half-page PDF for you to print out. Enjoy the video!

Here’s a look at my final first order. I love seeing the products all lined up like this. I need to try shopping in my own scrap stash store more often. ;)

Here’s another look, just because Lawn Fawn goodness makes me happy.

Here’s the handy PDF for you that basically just puts everything I talked about in the video in a printable format. Click here to download the PDF in full quality (below is a .jpg picture just so you can see what it looks like).

I hope you like this Tips and Tricks Friday! I had a lot of fun doing it, even if takes a little longer than a usual post. :)

  15. I would love to see a video with the crackle paint or the distress stains. I have been wanting to buy them, but I don’t know how to use them. I love distress inks as I have most of the ones in the standard collection. I would love to win the seasonal inks!

(Seasonal Inks) Great video, I’ve just started buying Lawn Fawn (2 so far) but now you’ve made it easier to decide what to purchase next. Good advice is always welcomed. Next video? How about your creative process and planning projects? Do you start with products and let it flow, or sketch & plan, make alterations and then create, or do you just create?

  23. Brenda Smith

Thanks for the chance to win. I’ve got so much to learn in the stamping arena that I’m up for any video tutorial you’ll offer :)

  24. Karen G (Cardcrazed)

Thanks for the chance to win some Distress Inks. I personally only need the seasonal ones, but if I win the regular ones, they’ll be going to friends who are now collecting Distress Inks, thanks to my addiction to them.

LOVE the Lawn Fawn getting started post. I have a few sets from LF and want to get more, this will help me immensely.

  25. Love your tips on Lawn Fawn> I have a few but not as many as you!!!
    Thanks for the giveaway, Britta!!!
    And great showcasing for LF.

  26. Great video on Lawn Fawn, I dont have any of the stamps but sure loved some that your showed. Love the chevron one.. now just have to find a place to buy them. Is it only on line and what blog??

thanks for the chance to win on your giveaway.. you are too kind. Love your videos.

    • Thanks for your comment! You can buy the chevron stamp through lawn fawn directly, locally by searching their store directory on their site (lawnfawn.com) or you can pick it up at my favorite online store, Simon Says Stamp – Chevron Backdrops – it’s in stock there as of right now. :) Clicking on the little pictures of the products used will always take you to a place when you can purchase the item. Hope this helps and I’m glad I could enable. Hehe!

  27. Great video. I would love to see a video on emossing folders. Thanks for the giveaway.

  28. Revital

  29. Kathy Mc

Lawn Fawn has some fabulous products. Thanks for sharing this great video and your favorites. As far as Distress Inks/Stains, I’d love to win even just one as have never tried them yet but love your results. A suggestion for a video would be how you decide which paper packs to buy so you get the most use out of it and matching them up. There are just so many out there by so many different companies. On a fixed income now so need to be really cautious with my purchases! Thanks for a great week of giveaways, Britta ~ you rock!

  30. Kristy B

Hi Britta, I am loving these prize packs I hope I can win one! I would like to see how you use some products like paper punches, perfect pearls or crackle paint/accents. Also any more of your fave stamps, because I love them! Thanks!

  31. anna

I would love the chance to win the seasonal distress inks only. I was going to ask for a where to start with lawn fawn video! But a video on the processes of creation would be awesome. The things you think about when creating a peice.

  32. Would love to see a similar series on Hero Arts Stamp :)

Thank you for all your hard work and for the chance to win!
    Neelu

  33. Mary Rogers

I would love some videos that feature the use of items around the house that everyone is likely to have. So often so many don’t have certain types of stamps or spray inks or punches seen in online videos. Then they miss out on the fun of feeling creative. Having all of the latest tools and gadgets is great, but not everyone can afford it. I have done fun things like making my own spray inks using concentrated Kool-Aid or leftover acrylic paints. Also some videos concentrating on utilizing stencils for backgrounds would be fun!

  34. I can’t tell you how exciting it’s been seeing your videos in my subscription box lately! So glad you’re back. Thank you so much for this chance at some yummy Distress inks!

I would love to see some tutorials on Mini Albums (I participate in project life, and I find that mini album layouts are great inspiration!) or see how your goals journal is progressing. I also really enjoyed all of your videos on how your interpret a sketch or a particular embellishment into a card.

    Hugs! =)
    -Megan

  35. Anna Stone

Hi Britta, great video. I really like the tips and tricks tutorials you do. I love the lawn fawn products. Such cute stamps! I also liked the paper trey ink video you do in a similar way. Sometimes it can very overhwelming deciding what to order from a company so these getting started vids are brilliant. Id love to see more with other of your favourite suppliers. I also love to see some suggestions for recycling and upcycling in papercrafts too. Also maybe a simple and basic tutorial on how to use fabric in cards and other papercrafts.

Thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway. I actually found ya blog while searching for videos on distress ink techniques on youtube.

  36. Holly

I always love to see colouring with copics. Also, do you have any tips for embossing with black or dark coloured embossing powders? My clear powder never sticks but I cannot stop other powders from sticking and feel like I have wasted products sitting in the cupboard because I can’t use them! I have seen the EK Success powder tool. Do you know if this works well enough to be worth buying?

    • Thanks for the suggestions! I would definitely recommend a powder tool for embossing. By rubbing it over the paper, it reduces the static cling that causes your darker powders to stick. Also try lightly tapping on the back of the paper before you emboss. That should knock away excess powder before you heat it up. :) Hope that helps! I need to get my embossing powders out soon… I have so many of them!

  37. Hi Britta! I’m really enjoying these videos – keep them coming! I don’t have any Lawn Fawn stamp sets yet but I have been eyeing them off so thanks a lot for this video!

I would love to see a video using Hero Arts products as I am falling in love with them lately. I am slowly building up my collection of their cling background stamps; but am also eyeing off there “shadow ink” range, and would love to see some inspiration using those. I am wanting to use the colours for sentiment stamping on the fronts of my cards but am worried they will be too light?

But really… I just love being enabled, so show me anything!!! <3

  38. Debra HH

Hello Britta! Another give-away? Fun, fun, fun! I am a newbie so I only have one of the distress inks. Oh, I would love to win either of the sets. I’m so happy to have found your blog. Thanks for the chance and good luck to every one.

  39. Carol Beuth

    Hi there!
I’m pretty new to distressing and came across your series on distress inks on youtube. They’re WONDERFUL!! Thank you so much,
    Carol

  40. Maureen Chandler

Thanks for the video and all that you share and explain. I would love more videos on cards for boys and men. I have a lot of them in my life and am always looking for new ideas. Thanks so much for the chance to win!!! Hugs!

  41. Thanks for the chance! Love the cardmsking videos. Haul videos are fun too. A little enabling never hurts!

  42. Janet Mack

  49. Regina

Hi, Britta! I’d like to see something about how to get started with copics. That’s something I want to try, but I don’t know were to start. Nice video!
And thanks for the giveaway! I’m in love with distress inks.

  50. Lynsey

So glad to see a video about using Lawn Fawn stamps and products. I have not ventured into that company yet, but I always love the cards you make with their products.

  51. Thanks so much for sharing and being so generous with your giveaways. I really loved your Stamptember double emboss resist episode and wish you would do another one using different stamps and distress ink colours. For lawn fawn I have been meaning to buy a number of sets and am keen on the one with the post box and the one with the breakfast toaster, eggs etc. Hope you get a chance to do videos featuring those. And finally, I would really love to get some tips on how you store your craft goodies. I liked how your Lawn Fawn clear stamps were stored in those clear plastics. More tips on how to get my craft things organised would be really great!
    Thanks again!

  52. What a wonderful giveaway. I would love to get my hands on the seasonal ones. Love the videos you do. Thank you. Watching your videos makes me want lawn fawn stamps and more distress inks.

  53. Goat Girl

  55. BunnyC

I love the distress inks. Work more with those if possible . Thank you.

  56. Ooh, that’s a good question. You’ve got so many videos already . . . have you done a where to start type of video with Hero Arts products?

    • Nope, I haven’t done a getting started with Hero Arts video yet! Hero is the company that most people know about first, so that would be a tricky video to make. I love hero, though! I’m definitely going to add that to my list. :) Thank you!

  57. Haejin

Wow! Great giveaway! I would love to see more tutorials on different coloring mediums (watercolor, ink, colored pencils, distress markers/ink, copic markers, etc.) I love watching other people’s process when they color. :)

  58. Thanks for a great video!
I’d love to see some tips on embossing. Which powders are good etc. :-) xx

  59. Thanks for the wonderful informative video Britta. I am loving Lawn Fawn too and my daughters as well…lol. Thanks for this Awesome giveaway, I have these limited inks in my wishlist for some time now:)

  60. Kimberly

I would love to see a series of videos using stamps in a non-traditional way. For example, using an ornament stamp to serve as a vase or a hot air balloon to be the petals of a flower. Always looking for ways to bring new life to old stamps. Thanks!

  61. Marissa M.

Thanks for the amazing giveaways! I love LF stamps :) You already do so many great videos. Maybe more background techniques. Thanks again!

  64. Carole Toppen

Britta, Thanks so much for this great video. I love Lawn Fawn but, like you said, I was in a qauandry as to where to start. I did finally break down and bet the chevron background stamp and love it. I don’t really have any suggestions for videos because I am a newbie to stamping and scrapbooking so anything to post is really apprieciated.
    seasonal only

  65. Mary Tilman

Great introduction to Lawn Fawn! and thanks for the PDF. I’d like to see more on using HA Shadow Inks. Also, do you index your stamps in a book or file? How do you keep track of what you have? Would love to win Seasonal Distress Inks–have most of the others. What a wonderful giveaway–thanks!

I love the Bannerific set from LF. They are great for stamping or typing sentiments. Gina K recently gave a PDF chart for keeping up with the distress inks you have. I’m sure you can get it from Tim Holtz web site too. It helps me keep up with which ones I need to add to my collection. All your videos are so informative so anything is fine with me. Thanks for the great giveaways you’re having.

  70. Arianna

    Hi Britta!

A true papercrafter can never have enough inks … myself included!!!

  88. Kathy Waxler

Since I’m still arguing with myself about which Lawn Fawn set to buy first, this video was perfect. I struggle with how to most effectively use background stamps, so a video on different ways to use them might be helpful. Thanks for the opportunity to win some Distress Inks (I don’t have any). Glad to have your videos back after your ‘vacation’ in Spain.

  89. Buncobuddy

I’m having a hard time finding a video to make a gift box for A2 cards and envelopes. I like to give them as presents (just because) and I can’t seem to find a nice (and easy) one. The box should hold at least 6 – 8 cards and envelopes. Thanks.

  90. makalah

I’m new to your site, so I have some videos to explore! :)

seasonal only please – I think I have most of the other ones! :)
