Hello there! I wanted to stop by today and share a card I made for my mom. She doesn’t actually have it yet, but I know she reads my blog, so this counts, right? ;)

Dear Mom: I’m sorry I can’t be in Wisconsin to see you today, but know that I’m thinking about you all day long and and saving up my big hugs to give you for when I see you next. Thanks so much for being there for me and supporting me with every step I take, and comforting me when I take missteps and need my Mommy. You’re an amazing mother, and I’m so lucky to have you in my life. I love you so much, Mom! <3 Britta

This card showcases the brand new Spring Seasonal Distress Inks from Tim Holtz and Ranger. I have to say, I love these colors so much! I started with the plaid background by running some Neenah Solar White cardstock through my Sizzix machine with my favorite plaid folder. Then I inked the embossed background with Peacock Feathers with a Blending Tool and then sprayed it with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water in a mister to blend everything together and bring in some shine. This color just asks to sparkle. :)

The flower scene is one of my favorite Hero Arts stamps – K5586 Daisies colored with Copic Markers on my favorite Tim Holtz Die – Styled Labels. The curves of the label really shine against the straight lines of the plaid background. I love that contrast!

I hope you enjoyed the card for today and have a happy Mother’s day, whether that means celebrating with or thinking of your mother or being pampered yourself. Every mother out there deserves a big hug today! Thanks so much for stopping by. I’ll be back tomorrow with a new regular blog feature that I think you’re going to  like. See you then!

P.S. Don’t forget to leave a comment on my Friday post for a chance to win a Critters on the Farm stamp set from Lawn Fawn! Entries close soon, so make sure to leave a comment now. <3

  1. This is gorgeous Britta! I’m so envious that you have Peacock Feathers already! Beautiful coloring of the stamp :)

  2. Hi Britta, this is totally random but I was interested in purchasing a big shot and I was wondering if you take requests? Would it be possible to make an intro to the big shot and embossing folders video and about different dies and companies and maybe showing us all your dies and stuff? I’ve searched youtube but I can’t seem to find exactly what I’m looking for.

    • Not random at all! I’ll add it to my list. I have made a few “card making basics” videos in the past, and this would fit right in with that. Watch for it in the next couple Fridays. Thanks for the idea and hope I can help! <3 B
