All with One Stamp Set: Belinda’s Borders

Hola amigas! I hope your week is off to a great start. I have a really fun card to share with you today!

Today, I’m featuring Belinda’s Borders from Lawn Fawn. I usually try to use as many of the stamps in the set as possible on the card, but today I focused on just one stamp – those awesome scallops.

Here’s a look at the card. It’s a little funky, but this kind of funky is right up my alley. :)

I used the scalloped border to stamp repeatedly over some Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. These borders are SUPER easy to line up because of their extra-wide bases. It helps to create even spacing and keep the borders straight. I love it! I colored in the scallops with some of my favorite copic marker colors and colored the background in with a T4 Toner Grey Marker. I like how that really makes the white pop!

Then, I used this awesome label die and a sentiment from Sophie’s Sentiments to finish everything off. The pearls were colored with the exact same copic markers that I used to color the card. I love that I can personalize my accents to make an exact color match when I use Copics.

I hope you enjoyed the card for today! I can’t wait to play with this set more; next on my list of projects is to do a fun plaid background with those stitching lines. That would be so cute!

Jake and I had a really fun, relaxing day today by going to the movies (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter… it was just meh), going for a dip in Lake Calhoun right in the middle of the city and finishing up our day out with a big pizza. Yum! I’m wiped out from the sun, so I’m taking tonight easy and getting ready to get a lot done the rest of this week. Thanks, Minnesota, for the gorgeous day! I love wonderful summery days.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you again soon!

Love,
Britta

I love the colors you used. The card looks so cheerful. I do a little bit of sewing and would love some fabric in that pattern.

  4. Love this card, the coloring makes it look dimensional! I still didn’t believe it wasn’t even after staring at the side view. =P Also love the matching pearls.

I love your card! great use of that border. Question: how do you color the pearls? Just color on them with the markers and it stays? doesn’t rub off? do you do something to them?

    • When you use alcohol-based markers like Copics, they dry on pearls in a few seconds. I just let them dry for a minute or so to be safe and then they’re good to go. It’s just like using sharpies a plastic container. :) You can actually use sharpies, too. I just don’t know if they’d be completely acid free and safe for cards that you want to stand the test of time. Hope that helps!

thanks for your reply! I don’t have copics yet, so am glad to know that the markers need to be alcohol-based for this to work.
