Tone on Tone Loveliness

I’ve been down an out with a migraine today, but I wanted to stop by and share a card. :) I have a fun Tips and Trick post almost ready to share for tomorrow. We’re talking storage this week. Yay! Just need to snap a few more pictures, and that will be up for you tomorrow.

I wanted to highlight one of my current favorite ink colors – Peacock Feathers from the Spring Seasonal Distress Inks. Really, these colors are all awesome!

Here’s the card I made to feature this awesome ink color:

By inking the my base of Neenah Solar White Cardstock pretty liberally and then stamping the lovely Flower Dot Pattern in the same ink over top, you get the see the pretty tone-on-tone pattern without it overwhelming the rest of the card. This look works for pretty much any of the Distress Inks! So next time you’re itching to use a color, pull this technique out of your hat of tricks and a pretty card is sure to follow. :) Oh, and I’m loving this We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Ribbon in Aqua to match the Peacock Feathers. This ribbon is an awesome deal and perfect for adding varieties of texture to a card. Love!

Thanks for stopping by today! I’m off to rest my eyes for a while and hopefully kick this migraine’s butt. I would much rather be crafting, so the sooner this goes away, the sooner I can make more pretty things. See you tomorrow for some Tips and Tricks!

Love,
Britta

  4. I just bought those same inks last week and I can’t wait to try them out. I have done a LO using that same technique. I used Spun Sugar, white 12×12 cardstock and a cute little dog bone stamp!! Loved the way it turned out. You can check it out on my blog if you would like. catscrapcreations.blogspot.ca.
