Timmy’s Plum Shirts

Many of you know that I lost one of my best friends in June. This weekend, I’m attending a walk in his memory and I wanted to share why this is important to me.

Timmy's Plum Shirts - Raising Money to Support Suicide Prevention

And if you take just one thing away from this post, please let it be this: it’s okay to ask for help.

Britta- What an incredible message Britta. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It really does make an incredibly positive difference in the world. You are a remarkable young woman! I tried to donate, but couldn’t get it to work. I have included my email on here, can you please send me an address where I can send a check to support you in this very important cause. Britta, just watched your video- it is very timely here as we have had about 5 suicides of young people lately, mostly guys. I, too, have been fortunate to be able to receive treatment for depression and anxiety and ,like yourself, also have a toolbox full of coping strategies, thank God. As you say, life can be filled with joy and purpose even in the midst of struggling with difficulties. But too many people, especially men, feel that they can’t talk about mental/emotional problems and that suicide is the only answer to their pain. We need to get mental health issues out of the shadows!!! Thank you for making this video and putting its energy out into the world. I am so sorry about the death of your friend- sounds like he was loved by many.
