Timmy’s Plum Shirts

Many of you know that I lost one of my best friends in June. This weekend, I’m attending a walk in his memory and I wanted to share why this is important to me.

Britta, just watched your video- it is very timely here as we have had about 5 suicides of young people lately, mostly guys. I, too, have been fortunate to be able to receive treatment for depression and anxiety and ,like yourself, also have a toolbox full of coping strategies, thank God. As you say, life can be filled with joy and purpose even in the midst of struggling with difficulties. But too many people, especially men, feel that they can’t talk about mental/emotional problems and that suicide is the only answer to their pain. We need to get mental health issues out of the shadows!!! Thank you for making this video and putting its energy out into the world. I am so sorry about the death of your friend- sounds like he was loved by many.
