Linky Love.

Hey there! Happy weekend! In all the craziness of this past week, I have several links to share with you from around that I think you’ll like. I’m feeling super, super sick today (I think it’s strep?) and am sad because it’s {finally} my bf’s 21st birthday, and I can’t go out to the bars with him and all of his friends. I’ve been waiting for this for like 5 months! Merrrrr. :(

But these links will make me & you both happy. Promise!

1. I’m a May Arts DT Call finalist for their video category! I submitted a video using their ribbon + making 5 different types of flowers, and I’m crossing my fingers that they pick me for their DT. :) So if you could, could you go over to this blog post on the May Arts blog and leave a comment? It counts as a vote for me. I would love you forever if you did! Here’s the picture of what I made in the video:

If you like the video, can you please go over to the May Arts blog and leave a comment for me? Mwah! I would appreciate it so much. :)

2. After this blog post about buying from Papertrey Ink for the first time, I received several requests for a PTI color chart. I thought, heck, why not? That would be a good thing to have! So I made one.

The background is kraft cardstock from PTI, but it’s almost exactly the same color as Bazzill’s kraft, so you can use that for comparison. And for any of you out there that already have Papertrey Ink cardstock and would like a copy of this chart, you can download it here:

*This is the current version as of 04-19-11. All errors fixed!

3. Here’s a layout I did a couple weeks ago and forgot to share. They’re pictures of Trixie when she was still a little baby. :) I know you Trixie fans out there will like this one!

I used the For the Record collection from Echo Park and cut apart the strips sheet and wove them together. I love this collection so much!

The roses are a combination of the sticker sheet and ones cut from the patterned paper. I just love all of the imagery in this collection. I’m hoping to create a lot more with it very soon.

Supplies: Cardstock – Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream), Patterned Paper – Echo Park (For the Record collection pack), Stickers – Echo Park (For the Record), Ink – Ranger (Tea Dye Distress Ink), Thread – DMC, Black Pen – Copic (Multiliner).

4. Here are some more things that I’ve been loving lately:

  • Sugar B. Supplies on etsy has the cutest things: lots of washi tape, packaging and stamps. I’m trying my hardest not to spend a million dollars there!
  • Some of you may know that I’m obsessed with planning my own wedding (like, way wayyyy wayyyyy in the future), and these new toms make me swoon. These would be so cute to wear at a reception. Oh, and I need to buy these shoes. Better yet, does someone want to buy them for me? Hehe.
  • Speaking of weddings (or just lovely things in general), I’m in love with this dress. The color is so bright and happy, and the cut is sooo flattering. Love The Dessy Group site in general. The dresses there are gorgeous.
  • I’ve been listening to Helen Jane Long a lot lately. Her music is so calming and beautiful. I bought her album Embers the other day and have been listening to is nonstop ever since. Listening to music without lyrics is especially great for when I’m writing.
  •  I’m dying to place an order from A Muse Studio soon. I’ll do a review of their paper and other products when I get my order. Btw, if you’re looking for a consultant, Mary Dawn is a friend of mine and she’s great! Order from her. :)

5. A big, huge thank you goes out to everyone who has purchased my e-book, No-Stress Distress Inksso far. It means so much to me, and the money collected from sales is going right back into this blog and my videos. So you buying the book ultimately gives you more awesome tutorials, videos and giveaways in the future. You all make my life so bright.

Wishing you all the best of weekends and hope you get a ton done. I’m taking it easy today and doing a little bit of crafting from bed, but I need to rest. If you feel so inclined, leave a link (shopping, crafty or otherwise) for me to check out on my day of rest. Lots of love and (non-germy, cyber) hugs!

I tried to post a comment over at the May Arts Blog after your video and it won’t take it it just keeps saying needs modification! I was wondering if there is something special needing to be done in order for it to work or is it too late???

    Hey Britta,

I’ve been reading some of your older posts and I think you’re the cutest! I enjoy seeing what you create and I really like you style.

It seems like you have so much experience with scrapbooking, card making, crafting, and I was just wondering if maybe you can tell me a bit about how you got involved and started out. How long did it take you to build up your supplies: distress ink, stamps, paper/cardstock etc?

Also, I’m 23 and a student so I know that buying scrap supplies gets so pricy (!) and you got soooo many nice/adorable/”things I gotta have” stuff. So I was just wondering where you buy your supplies (besides the online supplies like PTI). I live in Canada so I don’t have nearly as good of craft stores like you do. Do you know of any sites that have sales or deals or anything?! I’m trying to build up my supplies and I’ve been buying non-stop, I think I’ve become addicted :| It’s so much fun tho!

Anyways, I really enjoy following your blog and your youtube videos. I send support and love your way. Thanks for sharing what you do with us!!!

  5. Your flowers are really fabulous, love them all! Wishing you the best of luck on the contest, I love MA as well! Get better soon, you poor thing!!

  6. Beautiful flowers Britta! And thanks for the papertrey ink color chart, that is very helpful. I think I will have to dive into papertrey ink very soon. Also speaking of weddings, I posted some pics from mine on my blog…I didn’t wear Toms shoes, but I did wear white converse shoes under my dress…no one saw my feet anyway, and I was comfortable :) My husband put on black ones for the reception and when people saw his they started asking to see my shoes. Hehe!
