Simon Says… Anything Goes!

Hello and I hope you’re ready for a new Simon Says Stamp Challenge! This week is any anything goes week (so any creations that you make are eligible for the challenge… hooray!). The challenge design team is featuring Studio Calico products this week, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve created. I’m just loving the latest SC release, so I couldn’t resist incorporating SC products in a 3-card set. Here’s the set as a whole:

Here’s a look at the cards from a side view. The dimension here really makes this set. You know I can’t get enough foam adhesive. ;)

I wanted to show each card individually so you can see how even though I used the same supplies on each card, the colors really make the cards shine. And those Mister Hueys? They’re awesome.

This second one is my favorite. :) The butterflies were sprayed with Mister Hueys and then covered in Glossy Accents. This gives them a nice, shiny presence.

And I love the romantic feel of this last one. There’s something so happy about this warm pink background.

The woodgrain circle was created by stamping the image from this stamp set from Studio Calico and Hero Arts with Versamark and then brushed over with loose perfect pearls. The Versamark holds the perfect pearls, and a little mist of water over the top sets it in place. I love the shine and dimension that circle adds.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Studio Calico-inspired card set. I definitely enjoyed making it! Now make sure to head over to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog to view the rest of the design teams’ creations and join in the challenge yourself. Just by entering, you’ll have a chance to win this fabulous prize provided to us by the lovely Heidi:

  1. You have of course just further confirmed that the Fancy Labels Framelits are in my next Simon Say Stamp purchase. These cards are fab! I love how you masked with the die cut and then used the next size smaller to create a faux mat with the spray masking. AWESOME! I actually just did this on a card as well but haven’t shared that one yet (probably tomorrow). Also, how did you get the Mister Huey to spray that way, mine seemed to spray pretty solid where I sprayed then got splattery toward the edges. Did you spray directly at your mask to achieve the effect you have here? Would be interested to know.

    • I’m glad you like them! I sprayed the Mister Hueys from really far away to get that finer mist. The closer you spray, the more solid it is. :) Can’t wait to see your card that you mentioned… I’m on a serious flourish labels kick right now!
