YCU Challenge #11 – Many Layers!

It’s the 23rd, so you know what that means? It’s time for another challenge over at the YCU blog!

There are so many possibilities with this challenge. I love all ways of incorporating laters in to cards. I decided to play with one of my favorites – copic coloring and paper piecing stamped images with Lawn Fawn’s Admit One.

I wanted to create a fun card that would be good to give to a guy, too. Layers are great for guys as well! My bottom layer consists of the gorgeous thin chevron from Lawn Fawn’s Bright Side 6 by 6 pad and then some fun balloons from Admit One colored with four different pairs of Copic Markers (listed below in the supply list!)

My focal image has three different layers of that cute little ferris wheel (you don’t have to color all of every one of them – just the legs on the bottom and just the ride cars on the top). A little bit of foam adhesive and layering gives the card an even greater sense of fun an movement. I love it!

Make sure to hop over to the Young Crafters Unite blog for all the details on how to enter your own creation inspired by this challenge theme. I can’t wait to see all of the wonderful submissions for this one!

We are so lucky as to be sponsored by the awesome Simon Says Stamp for this challenge. They are giving one lucky winner a $25 gift certificate to their online store! If you haven’t checked out their online store before, it’s totally worth your time. Thank you so much, Simon Says Stamp!

Thanks for stopping by today. My tips and tricks post is scheduled for today (Saturday the 23rd) later this evening. I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start! I’m relaxing with my friends and planning for the next step of my next big project. It’s coming along and I can’t wait to share a peek with you soon! It just *might* involve a little bit of interactivity from you. Be excited! :)

  1. Saw your card at YCU and had to come here to say how much I like it! Great design and coloring – the balloon bg is fabulous!

  2. This is so fun! I love the vibrant colors — those blues and greens are beautiful! I’ll have to add those greens to my copic collection! :)
