Some New Favorites.

I think it’s about time for to upload another video to my youtube channel, don’t you? It’s been a while! Needless to say, this summer has been a lot crazier that I had ever anticipated. It’s good, but I feel a little crazy sometimes with all of the things I have to do. Lately, I’ve taken to making a really big to do list and then violently crossing out things as I accomplish them. Who knew rapid scribbles could make me feel so good? Haha!

I have a haul video for you today along with some other enabling. All of the products mentioned in the video are listed below with links to where to buy them. Remember that all Design Principles students have a special 10% code off any Simon Says Stamp order until August 31st, so now is your chance to get in to the class and still be able to use the coupon code for all of the fabulous new products coming out!

Also, I want to quickly remind you that I’m a Simon Says affiliate. When you click on links on my website that take you to the Simon Says store, Simon tracks that you’ve come from my site and gives me a small commission on your final purchase. Know that I only link to companies and products that I know and trust, and all of the proceeds go right into my website, videos and classes. Thank you so much for your continued support! I want to make sure you never feel like I’m conning you into using my links. It’s about sharing creativity and things that I love, and I hope you feel the same way!

Enjoy the video!

Here’s a card that I mentioned in the video using the Circle Border Craft Die from Simon Says and the gorgeous Pink Neon Dye Ink from Hero Arts.

I love that sentiment, too! It’s from another Simon Says exclusive – a stamp set designed by Kristina Werner titled “Absolutely Delightful.” Her handwriting rocks! I love this aqua + pink + white color combo. It’s super trendy right now.

WOW! Embossing Powders

At CHA, I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Tania (who reads my blog… Hi Tania!) who introduced me to WOW! Embossing powders. She works for them all the way over in the UK, where they are a very established company. They’re officially launching a few of their favorite colors over here in the US, and Simon Says now has a selection of them in stock. My favorite part about these powders is the whole system they have set up – the holders for the containers, the colorways and even the line in collaboration with Suzy West. Plus, these people really know how to craft!

An added bonus to this awesome embossing powder is that it’s treated multiple times for anti-static and is meant to be stored in its own jar. This means you don’t need to treat your craft project surface with anti-static powders or tools before applying the powder. That’s great!

Here are some favorite colors to start out with. And you better believe I’m picking up one of those carry cases with my next Simon Says order!

Here’s a card I made with my new favorite embossing powder, the Neutral Ultra Shimmer Glitter Embossing Powder by WOW! I did a simple emboss resist here and embossed the glitter powder right onto some Neenah White cardstock and then inked over it with Shaded Lilac and Milled Lavendar Distress Ink.

Check out this glitter… isn’t it gorgeous?! Since it’s heat sealed on the paper, it won’t fall off when you brush over the finished project, either. Awesome! The sentiment is another one from the Absolutely Delightful Simon Says set stamped in Soft Sand ink from Hero Arts and then the outline is stamped with Spice Tin JBS ink, my favorite navy.

Brand New Lawn Fawn Now in Stock at Simon!

If you’ve been following my tweets and blog posts lately, you probably know that I’ve been interning at Lawn Fawn all summer long. Well the time is finally here where you can buy all of the products we’ve been working so hard on! I’ll be sharing lots more with all of these products, but I hope you’ll pick up a few of your favorites so you can play along with me!

My top five must-haves: are the Dewey Decimal Petite Paper Pack, the Peppermint Lawn Trimmings Hemp, Interlocking Backdrops, Let It Snow and Hoppy Halloween. I love all of the products SO much though. They’re all like my babies now that I’ve spent the last 4 months working on them! In fact, those images that you see below? Yup, I made those. :)

Here’s a card I made to show of three of my favorite stamp sets from the new release: A Birdie Told Me, Happy Everything and Let it Snow.

That awesome confetti is brought to you Let It Snow. Isn’t it fab stamped in that Bubble Gum pink mid-tone shadow ink? The wavy border is also from Let It Snow and stamped in Weather Vane JBS ink. The cute little birdie and bubble are from A Birdie Told Me, and the sentiment is the namesake of the Happy Everything set. Those sentiments are ridiculously easy to line up for perfect placement!

And there we have it! A long, fun, enable-y post for you to sink your teeth into. Now I’m off to go create and finish up the last few lessons of Design Principles. Don’t forget to sign up before class is over to get your awesome Simon Says coupon code! You can always go back and review the lessons at your own pace.

See you soon! In the comments below, share with me your favorite new buy. What are you dying to play with next time you sit at your craft desk?
