You’re my favorite time of the year. Hands down, when you roll around each year, I greet you with open arms. Your sweatshirt weather, your brisk winds and yellow sun and your changing leaves make my heart happy. If I could have you all year around, I would. But we both know then I would take you for granted, and we can’t have that. Thanks for visiting again this year. You’re the best in Minnesota, I think, and I’m happy to be with you again.
So much love,
Seriously, fall is my favorite time of year. October is my favorite month. So it’s natural that when I tried out the 10 Minute Craft Dash yesterday, fall was my true inspiration.
The challenge is to use the three above colors to create a card in under 10 minutes. Mine took me a little over 15 minutes, but I hope that still counts! I felt the pressure for sure. :) It was a lot of fun, though! Here’s what I came up with:
What pushed me over the time was stamping the tree directly onto the card base. I decided it didn’t stick up off the card enough, so I stamped it again on white cardstock and fussy cut it out. That was my extra 5 minutes right there. ;) At least I’m super happy with it! The Hello Fall stamp set from Kelly Purkey through Simon Says is pretty much my dream stamp set for celebrating this season. The tree leaves make my heart happy, and this set will be fantastic for scrapbooking as well! Plus, that border is HOT. I’m in love.
Here’s a better peak at the stamp set that I’m currently in love with. Way to go, KP! Honestly, I would stamp with anything she designs, though. It’s like she creates stamps straight to appease my crafty-happy side!
I liked this card so much that I wanted to create one in more “traditional” fall colors. Same card design, different inks and papers. I love this one too!
That’s really the fabulous thing about the 10 Minute Craft Dash – you create a card that you can create multiples of in the same amount of time or less. Perfect! The inks really shine on this card. These are my new favorite colors from Hero Arts – Butter Bar, Orange Soda and Cup O’ Joe. What luscious, homey inks!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope to see you again soon! Before I leave, I wanted to share a chart that you might find helpful. Yesterday (just in time for World Card Making Day!), I got a big order from Simon Says in the mail which included the rest of these beautiful neon inks from Hero Arts. (Can you tell I’m on a huge Hero Arts ink kick right now?!) Here are all of the neons stamped out! (Note that the colors are very accurate on all except the orange – the orange is much brighter in real life, just like a highlighter!0
Also, Hero just released this stamp set, and it’s going to be PERFECT with these gorgeous inks. You better believe I’m going to pick this up as soon as I can!
Here are quick and easy links to the inks if you wish to pick them up. If you want to buy all of them at once, you save money by buying them in the full set! Enjoy. :)
Okay, that’s enough enabling from me for now! Be back soon with another fall card, this one featuring lots of Lawn Fawn. Yay for happy stamping! Hope your World Card Making Day was magical. <3
