YCU #15 – Warm and Cozy Colors

It’s the 23rd, so you know what that means? It’s time for another challenge over at the YCU blog!

You may know that fall is my absolute favorite season. That’s why I’m so in love with this challenge! The colors are perfect for fall or any cozy, happy card. So many possibilities here! Here’s what I came up with:

I used some of my new, exciting favorite things on this card. The pumpkins take center stage with some fun blending and glitter. First, I stamped the So Thankful pumpkins in some Memento ink and then used my blending tool to blend on Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink. I colored in the stems with a Memento marker, cut them out and then used a generous coating of Glossy Accents to pile on the Rock Candy Dry Glitter. (How AWESOME is that glitter?! It’s absolutely perfect.)

The bricks are my other favorite part of this card. They’re made with the brand new Brick Wall Tim Holtz Alterations die. I cut the intricate die out from some white cardstock, added some removable adhesive to the back of the die cut and then inked it up with Fired Brick, Aged Mohogany and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. From here, simply adhere it down to your card base and you have a wonderful brick floor! The adhesive on the back helps keep all of the pieces together while inking. You get all of the great texture of the bricks without little pieces flying all over.

Oh, and the background is some fab Hero Hues cardstock + stripes drawn in with a Cantaloupe marker. Simple, easy background that goes great with this warm and cozy card!
