Bright and Happy Hey

Last night, something magical happened. I made a few cards! The hexagon background stamp from the new Hero Arts collection really has me inspired. It’s super funky and I love it!

I stamped the hexagon background on kraft in Memento Black ink and then used a ruler to help me cut out some of the hexagons from pattern.

Then I added adhesive around the openings on the back and then adhered some fun neon paper throughout the pattern – Neenah White cardstock inked directly to paper with Neon ink and then stamped with the confetti background from Let it Snow in Mid-Tone shadow inks over top. Amazing. The colors I used: Neon Pink + Bubble Gum Mid-tone, Neon Orange + Orange Soda Midtone and Neon Yellow + Butter Bar Mid-tone ink. It’s the perfect happy, tone-on-tone look!

I couldn’t go without adding a little shimmer, so I cut out some awesome die-cut letters and stars with my Big Shot, adhered them, and then added Picket Fence Distress Stickles on with a teeny tiny paintbrush. It adds really great texture!

And here’s a picture of Princess Leia for good measure. She’s been a good little helper with my crafting lately. She likes to get as much fur as possible in my stickles. It’s like it’s her job or something. ;)

Thank you for willing my inspiration back. Now to spend the next three days before going home covered in glitter and adhesive foam squares!

Love,
Britta

YAY! The mojo has been found! I love when that magical moment hits. I knew you had it in you. ;-)

That being said, you’re right, that hexagon background is super cute…. might have to look into getting that one. I don’t have anything geometric, only botanical and text.

Oh, and remember – the only thing better than glitter everywhere, is glitter exactly where you want it! =D

    XXOO from CO!

I love hexagons. I just got the stamp and can’t wait to use it. I might have to go with your idea and tone it down abit (not into neon). Yours though is beautiful.
