Colored Pencil on Kraft Love.

So there’s this really great thing about Prismacolor Pencils that I make sure to keep in my crafty arsenal of tricks: they look fabulous on kraft.

This card features the Mama Elephant set Cup of Wishes stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with prismas.

Besides they amazing richness of the teal colored pencil, there are two more parts to this card that make my heart sing. First, the kraft is embossed with this Polka Dots embossing folder, but I used these special embossing diffusers from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. They create this really great un-embossed space that’s perfect for coloring and stamping on. These have been out for a while and are something I’m just getting into using these; I really like them! Secondly, to really make the embossing pop and to bring in a little whimsy, I colored on several of the dots with a White Signo Uni-ball pen (along with adding white details on the teacup). This helps add another layer of dimension to the design without taking away from the beauty and simple look of the stamping.
