Dear Kelly Marie:
Happy birthday! I’m so honored and pleased to call you a friend and can’t begin to describe what your friendship means to me. I’m so lucky to have you and the rest of the LF crew in my life. In honor of your special day (even though I’ll get to see you at the end of next week for Scrapfest – YAY!), I made a card that’s *almost* as sweet as you are. Mwah!
I used a couple of my very favorite Lawn Fawn things – the Quinn’s ABCs stamps and dies. You know I love those guys! I also used the Here’s the Scoop stamp set to complete the motif. The main focus of this card is my current obsession with gold colored pencil. I have this one from Prismacolor in PC950 Metallic Gold, which you can pick up in art stores. It’s a little more of an antique gold color, but it definitely fits in with my current gold obsession.
I colored the ice cream in with other Prismacolor colored pencils and added Frosted Lace Stickles and Glossy Accents for a little extra sparkle and shine.
I kept the background simple with just a bit of color by using Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac and Peacock Feathers Distress Markers (LOVE that Ranger came out with the seasonal colors in marker form!) + a couple mists of water + the Tiny Ink Spots background stamp from Hero Arts all stamped onto watercolor paper. I colored once and created two backgrounds by simply misting again after stamping the first time. This is the second, more subtle stamping featured above.

P.S. Yes, this is totally the first card I’ve made in about a month and a half. WHEW! After a somewhat impromptu break, I’m back and am officially moved in to my new apartment. Woohoo!
